Drug Rehabilitation

Whether you are addicted to soft drugs, hard drugs, tobacco, alcohol, or even gambling, the signs that indicate a need for addiction treatment are the same. The most dangerous stage is denial. Addicts deny that there is a problem, lying to family members, friends, colleagues, and worst of all, themselves. They believe that the problem is not really an issue, that they can stop at any time, whenever they choose. They just don’t choose now. In this case, addicts can completely justify why they are taking the drugs and believe that they are still in control.

When people become addicted to a substance, most of the time they will not want to admit it. Possibly they feel ashamed, a failure, or embarrassed and don’t wish to share these feelings with anyone else. However, sometimes, they just can’t see that the person they are whilst under the influence of the drugs or alcohol is a completely different person from the one who has given up completely! They are oblivious to their erratic behavior and the detrimental effect they have on the people around them, family especially.

It seems that many people are under the impression that drug rehab has a magical answer with a drug treatment to solve any habit. It’s not widely circulated the pain a person goes through - particularly if it’s a chemical addiction i.e. something on which their body has become dependant – in order to be free of their addiction. You hardly ever hear about the stars saying, “It was tough” or “I thought it would never end”. All you see is them shrugging their shoulders to the effect of “Well, things got a bit out of control. I suppose that was the next step.” Rarely do celebrities admit themselves into rehab centers. Most of them commit a crime such as driving under the influence of alcohol, excessive speeding, or injuring another person, and only then when a judge sentences them and orders them to do time do they consider alcohol rehab.

It appears that life in the fast lane of movies and music is not as wonderful as we think, if rich, famous, and good looking people, going out with (or married to) other gorgeous people still need drugs and alcohol to make things seem better!
